Huckleberry is a Gulf Coast-focused food truck utilizing sustainably-sourced seafood and ingredients from local farms and ranches. Chef Davis Turner and co-owner Melinda Reese were raised in Corpus Christi and Florida, respectively, and the menu is representative of their Southern coastal upbringings. Dishes include seafood platters and sandwiches, such as po’boys and shrimp rolls, as well as fresh sides like cole slaw, beet salad and street potatoes. Rotating specials allow the culinary team to experiment with underutilized seafood species, while presenting dishes in a familiar way, such as Amberjack Pastor Tacos. Huckleberry was awarded Austin Food & Wine Alliance’s “Alamo Gives” Grant in 2019 and supported the James Beard Foundation’s Smart Catch Program from 2018 – 2020.
